The Challenge
W.L. Gore & Associates needed a way to introduce fundamentally new performance characteristics — moisture management, weatherproofing, tactile properties — into advanced materials without the environmental footprint of traditional synthetic chemistry.
Our Solution
Arzeda is working with Gore to develop designer proteins that unlock novel material architectures. Our bio-based, biodegradable enzymes enable an entirely new class of performance fabric with reduced manufacturing waste and resource intensity.
Results
A new class of protein-enhanced materials is in active development with early samples in partner validation.
